Ferrando - Nicholas Sharrat
Nick Sharratt is currently preparing for performances at Sadlers Wells of Elizabeth Machonchy's opera The Sofa with Independent Opera. Also this season he sings roles in A Midsummer Nights Dream and Romeo et Juliette with Opera North with performances in Leeds and on tour throughout the UK May and June 2008.
Guglielmo - Paul Carey Jones
Current engagements include Fiorello Il barbiere di Siviglia and Marchese d’Obigny / La traviata (Scottish Opera), The Dream of Gerontius (Royal Albert Hall, London) and Friday Night is Music Night (BBC Radio 2). His début solo CD ENAID – Songs of the Soul is now available on SAIN.
Paul has sung for many companies including Bampton Classical Opera, Diva Opera, Lyric Opera Dublin, Opera East, Scottish Opera and Wexford Festival Opera.
Don Alfonso - Anthony Cleverton
Currently under contract in Macbeth, Albert Herring & L'elisir d'amor with The Glyndebourne on Tour chorus, October to December 2007.
Fiordiligi - Stephanie Corley
Stephanie Corley has sung major roles at Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Scottish Opera and has covered Arminta in Il Re Pastore at the Garsington Festival. Stephanie will sing multiple roles in contemporary opera company Tête-à-Tête’s new work, Blind Date, with performances in London and on tour in November 2007.
Dorabella - Lina Markeby
Lina Markeby is currently on tour singing Arcane in Handel’s Teseo for English Touring Opera and will sing Second Woman in Dido & Aeneas, conducted by William Christie and directed by Deborah Warner, in Paris, Amsterdam and Vienna in 2008 and 2009. Lina as had a very busy summer, singing 3rd Sprite Rusalka and the title role in Peter Brooks’ Le Tragédie de Carmen at the 2007 Wexford Festival and Messagiera/Ninfa in Monteverdi’s Orfeo at Drottningholm, Sweden.
Despina - Edel Shannon
Edel Shannon has just sung the role of Susanne in Surrey Opera’s production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and has covered the role of Naiad in Ariadne auf Naxos for the 2007 season at Garsington.
